Rovers land Portuguese starlets

Fellow youngster Fabio Nunes linked up with Rovers on a three-year contract earlier in the month and he was joined at Ewood Park by veteran striker Nuno Gomes. Jorge and Edinho have now been added to Steve Kean's squad, and the Blackburn boss feels the youngsters can make an impact this season. Kean told the club's official website: "They are essentially for the future, but they have already shown themselves to have great quality. I fully expect them to be around and about the first team very soon indeed. "Paulo (Jorge) is a midfield player who has looked comfortable in the middle of the park and Edinho is a young striker with good movement who looks very quick and very sharp. "We have already seen what Fabio (Nunes) is all about in the opening friendlies. He plays wide left, enjoys going past people and has a great engine. "He might just adapt a bit quicker than the other two because he has played more games and is therefore more up to speed."
