Veteran striker Ronaldo scored for the first time in nearly two months but Corinthians could only draw 1-1 with Flamengo in the Brazilian league.

Ronaldo shot home from inside the area in the 30th minute at Engenhao Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, but Flamengo equalized early in the second half to keep Corinthians from moving into the lead of the Brazilian championship.

The 33-year-old Ronaldo hadn't scored since a penalty against Atletico Paranaense on Sept. 8 in Sao Paulo. It was his third goal in the tournament in which he has played only six matches. He missed 10 straight games before playing three in a row through Wednesday.

Corinthians is second in the standings with six rounds to go, behind leader Fluminense.
