Thomas Rogne's late equalizer salvaged a point for Celtic in a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League on Tuesday.

The Norwegian center back denied the visitors a surprise victory with a header from a free kick that went in off the post in the 84th minute.

Conor Sammon's 12th goal of the league campaign put Kilmarnock ahead in the 54th minute, the in-form striker finishing off a sweeping counterattack by running onto Mehdi Taouil's pass, bursting into the penalty area and driving home low into the corner.

Celtic's third successive home draw keeps the Glasgow club in second place, two points behind leader and city rival Rangers, which has played a game less. Kilmarnock remains in fifth place.
