American winger Robbie Rogers has been granted a British work permit and will complete his move to the English second-tier club Leeds once he receives international clearance next week.

The 24-year-old Rogers, who will sign an initial 18-month contract, is available on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.

Rogers has already played for Leeds in a behind-closed-doors exhibition against Newcastle this week.

Leeds is 11th in the 24-team League Championship standings.
