Rob Stone to host FOX Sports' primetime 2015 World Cup coverage

Rob Stone will be the prime-time studio host for Fox Sports' coverage of the Women's World Cup in Canada.
Stone will anchor coverage of the six-city, monthlong tournament from the FOX studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, the network announced Wednesday.
"Rob is an exceptional studio host with a deep understanding of international soccer, so he is the perfect choice to anchor our Women's World Cup coverage in prime time," FOX Sports' Executive Producer David Neal said in a released statement. "An event like this is similar to an Olympics, with many moving parts, and excellent hosts are smart, personable and have a little traffic cop inside them. Rob brings those attributes to the job every day."
Stone has hosted Fox Sports' coverage of the Premier League and other soccer leagues in Europe, as well as college football and basketball programming.
Fox Sports plans unprecedented coverage of the Women's World Cup, which opens June 6 and ends in Vancouver with the final match July 5. Sixteen matches will air live on the Fox network, with the rest on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2.
"Covering a massive global tournament in this role is what few in our industry get the opportunity to do, and I am honored that FOX Sports has entrusted this responsibility to me," Stone said in a released statement. "I passionately care about this sport and am excited to get started, especially following the excitement we saw during last summer's World Cup."
