The 23-year-old England international has become a key part of Roberto Mancini's side since the Italian took charge at the Etihad Stadium last season. Richards's form has also seen him recalled to the national side and he is now regarded as one of the country's top defenders. City have now rewarded Richards' progress in the last 12-months with a new long-term deal and the player, who is a graduate of City's academy, is delighted to be remaining with the only club he has played for.
