Franck Ribery has delayed a decision on his future and says if he left Bayern Munich it would be to go to Spain and nowhere else.

The France winger told Sport-Bild weekly it would be hard to resist the prestige of joining Real Madrid, although his decision would not depend on how much money he would make.

Ribery still has a season on his Bayern contract and the club wants to extend the deal. Ribery said a decision will be made in the next few weeks.

"I have to make a difficult decision and I need time," the 26-year-old Ribery said.

Ribery said he had to consider what was best for his family, with his wife unaccustomed to Munich's cold winters.

"If I decide against (staying with Bayern) then I will go to Spain for sure," said Ribery, who had been linked with a move to Chelsea. "The prestige of Real Madrid hasn't suffered despite being again knocked out of the Champions League before the quarterfinals.

"I am only human. If you have an offer from such a club, you must be allowed to think about it. The best players in the world play there."

Ribery said his decision would not depend on money but on the security of his playing career.

"Regardless of where I go, I'd like a five-year contract," he said.
