Marco Reus bagged a brace as Borussia Monchengladbach banished their away-day blues with a 2-1 victory at Hertha Berlin.

Adrian Ramos gave Hertha the lead after 18 minutes but Reus equalised on 33 minutes before hitting the winner early in the second half.

Hertha took the lead after Raffael fed a through-ball to Ramos, whose 15-yard efforts from the right side of the area went through the legs of Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Hertha continued to enjoy the bulk of possession but it was Gladbach who added to the scoring just after the half-hour mark.

Patrick Herrmann was the architect, sending the ball into the path of Reus who beat Thomas Kraft just inside the far post with what was the visitors' first chance of the match.

The goal galvanised the visitors and Gladbach took the game by the scruff of the neck after the break.

They nearly took the lead after 48 minutes when Herrmann's powerful effort was deflected by Andre Mijatovic over the bar, but the winning goal did arrive on 55 minutes when Reus volleyed home after Kraft had parried away Juan Arango's shot.

Gladbach were just inches away from extending their lead in the 69th minute but Roman Neustadter's shot from the edge of the area went just wide of the left-hand post.

Hertha carved out one final chance to snatch a point in what time remained, but Raffael was unlucky to see his well-struck effort hit the crossbar in the 72nd minute.
