An Indian businessman is reportedly in talks to take over Spanish league club Racing Santander.
Ahsan Ali Syed told El Diario Montanes newspaper the club has ''enormous potential'' and fits into his long-term plans of entering the professional sports market.
Ali Syed says the deal is set to be completed ''imminently'' through his Western Gulf Advisory, a Bahrain-based company founded by Ali Syed. According to WGA's website, the company handles ''corporate finance, debt, and equity participation.''
Miguel Angel Revilla, head of the Cantabrian government, welcomed the news and said local business had been unable to provide the necessary investment for Santander, which is 14th in the standings.
