Federico Macheda's agent says the Manchester United striker is on the verge of completing in a six-month loan deal to Sampdoria.
Giovanni Bia tells Italy's Sky TV that the deal is just about complete and ''is only missing a formal exchange of faxes ... The idea is for six months, then Manchester will see if he'll need another year in Italy, but I'd say 99 percent that he'll return right away to Manchester.''
Sampdoria is in need of a new forward with Antonio Cassano having joined AC Milan, while Macheda, who left Lazio for United in 2007, is looking to play more regularly.
A member of Italy's under-21 side, the 19-year-old Macheda immediately won over United fans when he scored an injury-time winner in his debut against Aston Villa in April 2009.
