Report: Henry signs with Red Bulls

French superstar Thierry Henry, according to multiple published reports,  has signed a deal with the New York Red Bulls and will join the club after the World Cup.

Henry, recently villified for his blatant handball against Ireland in their World Cup qualifying playoff, is coming off a disappointing season with FC Barcelona. The French winger scored just four goals this season after contributing much more last year when the Catalans won the treble.

A World Cup and European Championship winner, Henry has won every major piece of silverware in club and international football, but has fallen somewhat off the radar with the Spanish champions.

No details have been released in regards to the contract, but Barcelona spokesmen are not denying the potential deal, although other reports suggest that Henry is waiting until after the World Cup to make any announcements.

With rumors swirling that Valencia and Spain striker David Villa is all but signed by the 2009 treble winning Barcelona, Henry would be surplus to requirements and therefore available for the MLS club.
