Reid, who has not managed at club level since departing Coventry in January 2005, left his post as Pulis' number two to seal a move to Home Park, the venue where he scored his first ever career goal for Bolton. And Pulis told Herald Sport: "His enthusiasm for the game, and his contacts, are second to none. He's such a bubbly character and the people at the football club, and the players that work with him will be bowled over by him." He added: "Peter has been really keen to get back into management for some time and have a go again. "I think he has got something to prove, and not only to the people at Plymouth. It's very important to him that he does well at Plymouth and gets them going. I'm convinced he will do that."
