Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp claims his hopes of signing David Beckham are now in the hands of others.

Redknapp has made clear his desire to bring in the former England captain on a short-term loan deal from Los Angeles Galaxy this month.

The possibility of a deal would now seem to hinge on whether conditions likely to be imposed by the Major League Soccer club can be met.

Redknapp said: "It is definitely not done - one million percent not. I don't know what has happened.

"I have left it to the chairman to deal with.

"I think we could do with his know-how, I think he has something to offer but it is out of my hands.

"I've said I'd like him but it is up to others now whether there is a deal to be done.

"If there is a deal to be done, I really don't know at the moment."

Beckham could potentially be available until he needs to report for pre-season training with Galaxy in March.

The 35-year-old former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder has had similar spells with AC Milan in each of the past two years.

Redknapp added: "I will speak to the chairman tomorrow and see where we are at."
