Harry Redknapp and his former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric have appeared in court facing charges of tax evasion.

Redknapp, who is now manager of Tottenham, and Leicester owner Mandaric are jointly accused of two charges of cheating the public revenue. This appearance at Westminster Magistrates Court in central London was their first hearing.

Their cases were adjourned until April 14 and they were allowed bail. Lawyers for both men have already said they would contest the charges.

They were charged last month following an inquiry involving City of London Police and the government's Revenue and Customs department.
