Radamel Falcao makes his Manchester United debut on Sunday - and the striker is already planning to become a club legend.

Loan signing Falcao is one of four big-money recruits expected to feature at some stage against QPR on Sunday.

United fans will likely get a first look at Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, while English football's most expensive player Angel di Maria makes his home debut, but it is Falcao's arrival which has taken most of the headlines.

Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves spoke to the Colombian in the run-up to the game and found a man determined to make a long-term success of his latest move.

"I will fight to stay here," he said, "and I want to make my mark. I would like to be a legend at this club."

Rio Ferdinand arguably comes close to that status already, but United's one-time record signing will be in QPR colours on Sunday, when he will be under orders to make Falcao's debut one to forget.

Ferdinand says he will put his emotions aside and do a professional job on his first return to Old Trafford since leaving for London in the summer.

That move was the right one, according to new United manager Louis van Gaal.

"There is a time to stay and a time to go and Rio decided to go," said van Gaal, who goes into today's game searching for his first win since succeeding David Moyes.

"He was a great player, maybe he is still a great player but there is always a time for a player to go from a club."
