Queens Park Rangers has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with two Asian airlines in an attempt to broaden the Premier League club's appeal in the region.

The deal will see the Malaysia Airlines logo on the home shirt for the next two years while Air Asia, the company owned by new Malaysian owner Tony Fernandes, will sponsor the team's away and third jerseys.

QPR chief executive Philip Beard says the deal will help the London club build ''a thriving relationship with both businesses in a bid to broaden our exposure in southeast Asia and further afield.''

Fernandes, who is also team principal of Formula One's Team Lotus, completed his takeover of QPR last month, buying a 66 percent stake for a reported 35 million pounds ($58 million).
