Queens Park Rangers says its appeal against captain Joey Barton's sending-off for an apparent headbutt during a Premier League match has been rejected.
Barton was involved in a tussle with Bradley Johnson during QPR's loss to Norwich on Monday before appearing to headbutt the midfielder. QPR went on to lose the match 2-1 after leading 1-0 when Barton received the red card.
The 29-year-old midfielder must now serve a three-match ban for violent conduct with immediate effect, which takes in two league games and Saturday's FA Cup match against MK Dons.
