Puebla beats Pachuca to reach SuperLiga semis

Mario Ortiz scored two second-half goals to lead Puebla into the SuperLiga semifinals with a 3-1 win over fellow Mexican team Pachuca.
Puebla leads Group A with six points heading into its group finale Wednesday against Houston, which has four points after a 1-1 draw with Chivas USA earlier.
Pachuca has no points in group play heading into its last group match against Chivas USA.
Gabriel Pereyra gave Puebla a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute after gathering a pass from Ortiz in the middle of the box and sending a left-footed shot into the right of the net from 10 meters (yards).
Ortiz scored in the 67th minute after collecting a pass in the box and struck again eight minutes later to make it 3-0.
Franco Arizala scored in the 80th minute for Pachuca.
Pachuca played the final 27 minutes a man down after Dario Cvitanich was shown a red card for giving a Pachuca player a sliding kick to the head.
Earlier Sunday, Jesus Padilla headed in the equalizer in the 71st minute to give Chivas USA a draw with Houston.
Lovel Palmer scored for Houston in the sixth minute by controlling an attempted clearance and lofting the ball into the far side of the net from 14 meters (yards) out.
Padilla entered in the 24th for United States team member Jonathan Bornstein, who left with an injured right ankle after Andrew Hainault's hard tackle in the 18th.
