PSV slip up, Ajax stay top

Theo Janssen put Twente ahead in the 11th minute and again in the 62nd minute after Mounir El Hamdaoui had swiftly wiped out the early lead. But Michel Preud'homme's team could not retain their lead and Eyong Enoh hauled Ajax level for a second time in the 68th minute. That result, and the 1-1 draw between PSV Eindhoven and FC Groningen, meant the top four teams in the Dutch top flight did not move position, with Ajax leading by two points from PSV and Groningen, with Twente two points further adrift. After seven rounds of matches, all four teams are unbeaten. Groningen's undefeated record was under threat at the Philips Stadion where PSV led through Ola Toivonen's 62nd-minute goal, only to be pegged back when substitute Gonzalo Garcia scored two minutes from the end. Roda JC could have jumped above Twente with victory at Heerenveen but were grateful for a 2-2 draw in the end, having been two goals behind at half-time. Bas Dost scored after 13 and 35 minutes to put Heerenveen in charge, but the comeback began when Arnaud Sutchuin Djoum netted for the visitors after 69 minutes, and Mads Junker plundered an equaliser seven minutes later. Any hopes that Roda had of winning the match were effectively dashed when they were reduced to 10 men in the 86th minute - Laurent Delorge the man dismissed. ADO Den Haag climbed to sixth place with a 3-2 win over Heracles, courtesy of one goal from Lex Immers and two from Dmitri Bulykin. Glynor Plet had put Heracles 1-0 up early on, and Everton hauled them level at 2-2 midway through the second half, only for Bulykin's second goal to arrive four minutes later. Further down the table, AZ Alkmaar won their fourth match in 10 days as they beat FC Utrecht 1-0. The first of those wins came in the Europa League, and the third in the KNVB Beker, but the two league wins have lifted AZ into mid-table after poor early-season Eredivisie form. Rasmus Elm was their goal hero today, his long-range free-kick finding its way through a crowd of players and into the net in the 44th minute.
