Preston are hoping to tie down starlet Bailey Wright to a new long-term deal in order to fend off Premier League and Championship interest.

The 20-year-old has made an outstanding start to the new season, having at one point looking like being sold in the summer.

Graham Westley has since given the versatile defender his chance and he has impressed hugely for North End.

Wright, who was picked up by Preston from the Victorian Institute of Sport Football in 2009, is out-of-contract in the summer and the club are anxious to tie him down.

However, the Australian's displays have not gone unnoticed and Sky Sports understands that there are clubs in the Premier League and Championship ready to make offers in January to take Wright.
