The Premier League has again rejected a proposal for Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers to move to the top flight of English football.
Responding to a proposal by Bolton chairman Phil Gartside to introduce a two-tier Premier League including the two most successful Scottish teams, the league issued a statement on Thursday that it was not "desirable or viable."
Celtic and Rangers - known in Scotland as the Old Firm - have dominated Scottish football since 1892. No other club has won the league title since Aberdeen in 1985.
Repeated proposals for the two Glasgow clubs to move to England have been rejected.
