Portsmouth's hopes of reaching the FA Cup final have been rocked by Hermann Hreidarsson and Danny Webber being ruled out for at least six months.

Both players were injured in Saturday's 2-0 Premier League loss at Tottenham, which is also Portsmouth's opponent in the FA Cup semifinal scheduled for April 11.

Scans revealed that Hreidarsson, the 35-year-old Iceland defender, ruptured an Achilles' tendon in his left leg and will require surgery next week.

Webber, a 28-year-old striker, ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament.

The cup offers Portsmouth a chance of salvaging something from a bleak season, with relegation almost a certainty for the bottom-placed club.
