Peruvian football officials have backed national team coach Sergio Markarian, who dropped three players after they violated team rules and attended a late-night party following a 1-0 loss to Panama in a friendly earlier this month.

The Peruvian Football Federation said In a statement Friday the three players would not be fined, but would be kept off the national team until Markarian decides they can return.

The three were identified by the federation as Reimond Manco, John Galliquio and Jefferson Farfan. Farfan, who plays for German club Schalke, is considered one of Peru's top players.
