Pazzini hoping for home comforts

The Italians need a win to revive their ambitions of reaching the last 32, while anything but a defeat at the Luigi Ferraris stadium would see the Dutch side progress with a game to spare. Sampdoria have claimed four of their five points at home, while unbeaten PSV are looking for their third straight win on the road in Genoa. PSV lead the group on 10 points, three clear of Metalist Kharkiv, who take on Debrecen in the other game. Samp lie five points behind PSV and two points behind Metalist with two games remaining. "It will not be easy to beat the Dutch, but we have home advantage," Pazzini said. "It's one of those games that we have to win together." Samp coach Domenico Di Carlo expects his side to show the same determination that earned them a point against AC Milan at the weekend. The Blucerchiati held the Serie A leaders to a 1-1 draw courtesy of Pazzini's equaliser. "The result against AC Milan was important considering they are the Serie A leaders and they were in great form," said Di Carlo. "My team did very well against Milan and this can only give me confidence in view of Wednesday's match. "We must beat PSV if we want to continue in the Europa League." PSV will look to bounce back from last Friday's 4-2 defeat at NAC Breda which allowed FC Twente to join PSV at the top of the Eredivisie standings. "We actually played very well in the first half, but defended badly," said PSV coach Fred Rutten. "In the second half I saw my side perform below par. This hasn't happened before this season, so I will treat it as a one-off." The home side will be without injured trio Luciano Zauri, Franco Semioli and Marco Paladino.
