Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne's trial on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol has been adjourned until Dec. 13.
The 43-year-old Gascoigne is accused of driving a van in February while more than four times over the legal alcohol limit.
Gascoigne struggled with alcohol addiction even before he retired in 2004 but denied the charge and another of driving without insurance.
The trial was postponed Wednesday when Gascoigne's lawyer withdrew saying he had not had enough time to prepare his case. Gascoigne was left temporarily representing himself before the adjournment.
