Pato suffers injury setback

The Brazil international, 22, was restricted to just 11 league appearances for the runners-up last season due to a succession of leg injuries as he battled to stay off the treatment table

A statement on the club's official website read: "AC Milan can confirm that during training on Wednesday, Alexandre Pato reported a problem with his left adductor muscle.

"There will be further medical examinations in the coming days to determine the extent of the damage."

The Rossoneri begin the new season with the visit of newly-promoted Sampdoria on Sunday.
