Palace slip up at Crawley

Crystal Palace slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Crawley Town as their lack of match sharpness was exposed.

Ian Holloway's men are just a week into their pre-season fixtures, while Crawley have now played seven games this summer ahead of the start of the League One campaign next week.

Billy Clarke opened the scoring for the hosts when Gary Alexander's attempted shot ricocheted off a Palace defender and fell kindly for him to score past Julian Speroni.

Sergio Torres added a second for Crawley in the 73rd minute when James Hurst's shot was acrobatically saved by Ross Fitzsimons and he seized on the rebound.

Mat Sadler then rounded off a great afternoon for Crawley with a late volley, to leave Palace with a lot of work to do before the new Premier League season kicks off.
