Mexican side Pachuca beat 10-man Al Wahda of the United Arab Emirates 4-2 on penalties to cap a dramatic comeback and take fifth place at the Club World Cup.
The CONCACAF Champions League winners were 2-0 down with eight minutes to go before substitute Dario Cvitanich struck twice, first with a volley and then a clever backheel in the 89th to level the match.
The match finished 2-2 at full time and went straight to a penalty shootout. Pachuca goalkeeper Miguel Calero saved from Abdulraheem Jumaa and Modibi Diarra missed his effort to give the Mexican side the win.
Al Wahda opened the scoring in the 44th when Ismaeil Matar volleyed in from close range.
Pachuca had the perfect opportunity to equalize when Hamdan al-Kamali fouled Franco Arizala to give away a penalty in the 73rd and was sent off for his second booking.
Edgar Benitez put his spot-kick over the bar though and looked set to pay for his mistake when Mahmoud al-Hammadi scored on the rebound to make it 2-0, before Pachuca's late rally.
