O'Hara will again be absent for next Tuesday's home Premier League clash with Liverpool.
McCarthy said: "Jamie won't be ready for Liverpool. He's going to be another week to two weeks yet."
O'Hara played a key role in Wolves surviving in the Premier League last season when on loan from Tottenham but he has struggled to make the same impact during the current campaign before his injury setback.
