The Nigeria striker has struggled to live up to a fine first season with Albion and was recently embroiled in a public row with his boss over his injury record. But all was forgiven as Odemwingie's excellent last-minute goal gave Hodgson's side victory at Blackburn on Saturday. The 30-year-old told the Express and Star: "We didn't have much of a problem. He put out his frustrations about my absence but I took the positives out of it and was hoping to get over the injuries and be back. "It wasn't easy but it's over now and I know I'm important to the team. It was a tough period. "Sometimes critics are justified and not justified but if you give up then it means you are not strong - you are too weak to be a Premier League player."
