Newly-promoted Norwich recovered from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at Wigan in the Premier League on Saturday.

Wigan, which like Norwich is being tipped for a relegation struggle this season, took the lead in the 21st minute when Ritchie de Laet bundled over striker Franco di Santo as they raced into the box and Ben Watson converted the penalty.

In added time at the end of the first half, Wigan goalkeeper Ali al Habsi gifted the equalizer to Norwich when he palmed Steve Morison's cross straight into the path of Wes Hoolahan, who rammed the ball in for the Canaries' first topflight goal since 2005.

Watson hit the post in the 85th minute as Wigan pressed, but Norwich held on for a potentially valuable away point.
