Elmander's future has been the subject of speculation for some time with his current contract due to expire in the summer. Newcastle were linked with a last-ditch bid for the Swedish international on deadline day, following the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool. Coyle is not worried about losing Elmander on a free transfer at the end of the season and confirmed talks are ongoing regarding a new deal. "I know he wants to play for Bolton Wanderers and we'll continue dialogue," Coyle told the Bolton News. "It may be in the summer that Johan wants to see what his options are. I don't have a problem with that because, apart from being a terrific footballer, he's conscientious and is a great lad. We're very open and honest about how we go about it. "We've had no contact from any other club. Whether Johan's agent has then that's something I'm not aware of but, knowing Johan, I think if anything had happened he would've been the first to tell me. "I know between now and the end of the season he'll try and do his very, very best for the football club."
