No new Trotters deal for McCann

McCann's current deal expires in the summer and the former Everton and Sunderland man will not be offered an extension at the present moment. The 32-year-old is currently recovering from a knee injury which has sidelined him since January and Owen Coyle will give him a chance to prove he deserves a new deal once he returns to fitness. "I have spoken to Gavin and said because of the nature of that injury I am not in the position to offer him a new contract," Coyle told the Bolton News. "What I will do, and in fairness to him he's been a very good player and a great lad, is when he is fit I'll give him an opportunity, it might be a month, to go and earn one. "We're not in an ideal position, because I've only got one player out of contract and there will be some players surplus to requirements. "I want my own type of players in and add my own flavour."
