A Brazilian football fan celebrating his team's goal died after falling into a three-meter deep (10-foot deep) pit separating the stands from the field in a stadium in northeastern Brazil.
The fall happened when Nautico scored a goal only two minutes into Sunday's match against rival Santa Cruz at Arruda Stadium in the city of Recife.
Nautico says 32-year-old Antonio Bezerra Costa Jr. fell after losing his balance and hitting his head. He was immediately taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, but doctors said his injuries were too serious.
The match in the Pernambuco state championship ended in a 3-3 draw.
