The current campaign has been a breakthrough one for the Everton midfielder, as he has been able to establish himself as a first-team regular. In the space of two years, the 22-year-old has gone from turning out for Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland to terrorising Premier League defences. He has developed much quicker than anyone at Goodison Park imagined he would, with a loan spell at Blackpool last season having helped to ease him into English football. Coleman is now one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League, with his nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award just reward for the progress he has made. The Republic of Ireland international admits is struggling to take everything in this term, but knows he cannot afford to rest on his laurels if he is to fulfil his undoubted potential. "Every day in training I'm trying to learn," said Coleman. "I'm trying to pick up different things but I don't want to lose that natural ability. I just like being able to get it and go. It's done me well so far, so hopefully that can continue to be the case. "I haven't had a whole load of coaching. I just go for it. I want to get past my full-back. If I don't do it the first time, I'll keep trying. "It's still there a little bit, that feeling that it's all a bit surreal. I've said to myself that I've got to get rid of that because you can't always think that way. "At the same time, I don't want to get used to it. I still want to have that little feeling of being in awe because you can never take your place for granted."
