Poland's sports minister has replaced the manager of the National Stadium, the person who was blamed for the country's rain-postponed World Cup qualifier against England.

Minister Joanna Mucha says she has dismissed Robert Wojtas and appointed Michal Prymas to be acting manager of the National Sports Center, which controls the 1.8 billion zloty ($600 million) stadium built for the 2012 European Championship.

Prymas was deputy head of the Euro 2012 organizers in the western city of Poznan.

The match against England on Oct. 16 had to be put off for one day due to a waterlogged pitch because the retractable roof was left open.
