Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has played down reports linking him with a switch to Barcelona this summer, saying he has had no offer from the Spanish giants.

The 26-year-old, who only moved to Italy from Real Madrid last summer, is currently at the World Cup with Argentina after hitting 17 Serie A goals in his debut season with Napoli.

Having rejected a switch to Arsenal last year, Higuain has another four years remaining on his current deal at the Stadio San Paolo after joining for a club-record fee of £34.5million.

Higuain has previously admitted to being "flattered" by the supposed interest from Barcelona, but he insists that there is no substance to the reports at this moment in time.

"I have nothing to say because there has been nothing," he said.

"I know nothing about Barcelona and I feel good at Napoli. But now, I want to think only about the World Cup."

Higuain's father, who is also his agent, added: "Gonzalo feels good at Napoli and he won't change club. I have nothing to deny because there has been nothing concrete."
