The 20-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United, but he was not even a regular part of the first team at Goodison Park this season. It has been suggested that Moyes has lost patience with Rodwell, but the Everton boss maintains the faith which saw the club and player agree a five-year contract last summer. Moyes thinks that Rodwell has simply suffered from a dip in form to compare to that of Wayne Rooney before he was sold to United in 2004. "Younger players are going to be up and down," Moyes said in the Liverpool Echo. "It happened with Wayne as well, the season we sold him, I don't think he actually played that well. "When the team are in good form, it's easy for the young boys to go with it. "But at times they need the senior players to help them. "Jack will come again, I saw signs of it towards the end of the season. "He's going to be a player."
