Montella leaves as Catania coach after only 1 year

Vincenzo Montella is no longer Catania coach after parting ways with the Serie A club following only one season in charge.

Montella took over at Catania last year after a brief spell as caretaker-coach at Roma. He led the Sicilian club to an 11th-place finish.

Catania announced it had come to an agreement to release Montella from his contract on Monday.

The 37-year-old Montella is reportedly set to take over at Fiorentina.
