Borussia Moenchengladbach has agreed to sign Brazilian midfielder Raffael from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev subject to a medical.

The Bundesliga club says in a statement that the 28-year-old Raffael will receive a contract through to June 2017 upon completion of his medical on Monday.

The club didn't divulge the cost of the transfer, however Kicker reports a fee of about 5 million euros ($6.6 million) has been agreed.

Raffael will be reunited with former coach Lucien Favre. The two worked together at Hertha Berlin from 2008-2012.

Raffael left Berlin for Kiev in 2012 before going on loan at Bundesliga club Schalke for the second half of last season.

Moenchengladbach sports director Max Eberl says ''this transfer wasn't easy to make happen, so we're very happy that it works out now.''
