MLS teams learn potential CONCACAF opponents

The Los Angeles Galaxy will play Costa Rica's Alajuelense in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Group A also will include the winner of a preliminary round matchup between Mexico's second-place team - Pumas or Morelia - and the Caribbean second-place team. The final club in the group will be Honduras' Montagua or Guatemala's Municipal, according to Wednesday's draw.

MLS champion Colorado was drawn into Group B with Honduras' Real Espana, the winner of Mexico's Santos Laguna and Honduras' Olimpia and the winner of El Salvador's Metapan and the Caribbean champion.

Mexico's Tauro and Panama's Tauro are in Group C with the winner of FC Dallas and El Salvador's Alianza, and either the Canadian champion - Toronto or Vancouver - or Nicaragua's Real Esteli or Walter Ferreti.

Group D includes defending champion Monterrey of Mexico, Guatemala's Comunicaciones, Seattle or Panama's San Francisco, and Costa Rica's Herediano or the No. 3 Caribbean team.

Preliminary round games are July 26-28 and Aug. 2-4, with the group phase starting Aug. 16-18 and ending Oct. 18-20.
