MADRID (AP) Espanyol and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of attacking midfielder Marco Asensio to the Catalan club.
The agreement will be signed Friday after the player undergoes a medical examination, Espanyol said Thursday.
Its statement added that Asensio ''is a talented player with a promising future'' who will strengthen coach Sergio Gonzalez's attacking lineup.
The 21-year-old Asensio's official presentation is scheduled to take place Friday in the club's stadium.

Before joining Madrid, Asensio played at Mallorca, where he scored four goals in 37 appearances.
