Javier Hernandez scored the winning goal in the 69th minute, lifting Mexico to a 2-1 victory Wednesday over North Korea in an exhibition game between two teams headed to the World Cup.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco gave Mexico a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute, scoring on a perfectly directed, 20-yard free kick. North Korea tied it in the 57th when Choe Kum Chol scored on a left-footed, bouncing shot to make it 1-1.
Mexico used the match to try out uncapped players with Blanco and goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa among a handful of players for Mexico sure of being in the World Cup squad.
