Mellon: We allowed them to play

Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon was left disappointed after seeing his side slip to a 1-0 defeat to Wycombe.

The only goal of the game came after nine minutes when Bruno Andrade cut inside Alan Goodall and shot low across Scott Davies.

He said: "There are a lot of players out there who haven't taken part or hit the levels that we would expect. We didn't pass the ball well. I don't think we were anywhere near imaginative enough in the final third.

"We gave it away too cheaply and allowed them to counter attack. All over the place I think we weren't good enough, for reasons unknown to ourselves because we've been in good form.

"That's football sometimes. It was a good early goal but we didn't react enough. It didn't galvanise us, get us angry or get us upset which maybe has to happen if you're going to kick start yourself.

"Too many players have accepted it and waited for somebody else to spark us. I'm very disappointed. It wasn't like us at all."
