The Italian media hailed Inter Milan after they beat Bayern Munich in Germany last night to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

The defending champions came from behind to win 3-2 at the Allianz Arena and overturn their 1-0 first-leg deficit to progress on away goals.

Milan-based Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted Inter's terrific second-half fightback after they had trailed 3-1 on aggregate at the interval.

"Inter you are unique!" read its headline."Incredible in Munich as Inter come from behind and win in an epic game."

Rome based Corriere dello Sport praised Inter's fighting spirit.

"Fabulous Inter," was its headline. "What an achievement in Germany."

Corriere praised Samuel Eto'o, who scored his team's opener before setting up team-mates Wesley Sneijder and Goran Pandev for the other goals.

The paper said: "Eto'o is Inter's extra weapon this season."

Tuttosport, which is based in Turin, have a photo of Pandev just after scoring the winner, with headlines: "Inter pride" and "Eto'o and Sneijder's goals and magic are stronger than the mistakes of Julio Cesar."

A mistake from Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar gave Bayern a 21st-minute equaliser in the second leg. He fumbled a shot from Arjen Robben to put the Italians on the back foot.

National newspaper Corriere della Sera has a photograph of Eto'o celebrating and its headline: "Great Inter comeback in Germany."

The newspaper also has an editorial comment that salutes the side coached by Leonardo.

It reads: "Inter qualify to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a game that is destined to remain in the history of the club and of the Champions League."

Inter are the only Italian team left in the European competition.

AC Milan and Roma were eliminated by Tottenham Hotspur and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively at this stage of the competition.
