Maxwell included in Brazil squad

Paris St Germain defender Maxwell is the only new face in Brazil's squad to face Switzerland in a friendly on August 14 in Basel.

Coach Luis Felipe Scolari has largely shown faith in the squad which won the Confederations Cup but with Real Madrid's Marcelo still not in perfect condition following the tournament, Maxwell could get his chance at left-back.

The 31-year-old has surprisingly never featured in a senior international game before, having failed to take the field during his one previous call-up in 2004. He won six Under-23 caps in a warm-up tournament for that year's Olympics.

Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis, who played at left-back in the Confederations Cup, drops out of the squad along with keeper Diego Cavalieri, defender Rever and midfielder Jadson.
