Martin's Norwich team-mate Vaughan enjoyed a successful stint at Selhurst Park last season and had no hesitation in recommending the club to his fellow striker. "Vaughany spoke well of the place and he obviously enjoyed his time here," Martin told Palace's official website. "He only had good things to say which helped convince me a little bit to come here. "I didn't need too much convincing, though, because I know Palace are a big club and are in a good position in the league. Hopefully I can help." Martin, who has joined the Eagles on an initial deal until January, could make his debut at Leicester on Saturday.
