Marseille has signed defender Jeremy Morel on a four-year deal from Lorient.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed Monday, but France Football magazine says the transfer fee was close to ?2 million.
Morel says ''it's an achievement and the only thing for me to do is to show what I'm capable of doing.''
A striker who converted into a left back, the 27-year-old Morel started his career 10 years ago at Lorient. He scored two goals last season.

Marseille finished second in the French league and will play in next season's Champions League.
