Resurgent Marseille were held to a goalless draw at the Stade Velodrome in a game which only truly sparked into life in the closing stages.
The hosts had the better of the first hour but could not find a way past Bordeaux's defence.
Bordeaux enjoyed a spell of pressure and went close to an opening goal on three occasions, but had goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso to thank for keeping them on level terms in the closing stages.
Marseille threatened first through Benoit Cheyrou in the sixth minute, the midfielder volleying Morgan Amalfitano's cross over on the run.
Carlos Henrique cleared Mathieu Valbuena's goalbound shot and Andre Ayew curled a free-kick just over.
And Cheyrou went even closer after Bordeaux failed to fully clear a corner, a superb volley flashing inches wide.
The pressure continued early in the second half, Carrasso saving both Valbuena's free-kick and Loic Remy's curling effort after a tremendous solo run.
But on the hour mark, and out of the blue, Bordeaux almost took the lead when Jaroslav Plasil's superb strike was kept out by defender Nicolas Nkoulou with keeper Steve Mandanda beaten.
As the game entered its last 10 minutes, the visitors threatened again when Nicolas Maurice-Belay set up Jussie to fire just wide with his left foot, and Anthony Modeste then forced an excellent diving save from Mandanda.
But Marseille regained the initiative in the final five minutes, with Carrasso forced to preserve a point. The keeper first dived full length to deny Cheyrou and then made a similar stop when Valbuena met Cesar Azpilicueta's cross with a well-placed diving header.
