Mark van Bommel drops out of Dutch squad

Midfielder Mark van Bommel pulled out of the Dutch team to play a friendly international against Turkey Wednesday after an injury to his right knee flared up again.
The Dutch Football Federation said Van Bommel was returning to Munich as a precaution after feeling ''a reaction'' to training with the squad.
Van Bommel injured the knee playing for the Netherlands last month in a European Championship qualifier against Sweden.
The World Cup runner-up was playing Turkey later Wednesday at Amsterdam Arena.
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk's team is missing key players to injury, including Van Bommel, Arjen Robben and Dirk Kuyt. Striker Robin van Persie has just returned after injuring his ankle at the end of August and was unlikely to play the full 90 minutes.
Bayern Munich and the Dutch federation have clashed in recent weeks over the injuries to Van Bommel and Robben.
The defending German champions say Robben aggravated a hamstring injury playing at the World Cup. The winger has been sidelined since the tournament in South Africa and he is not expected to return to action until 2011.
Bayern also asked the Netherlands to release Van Bommel before last month's Netherlands-Sweden match but the Dutch refused. Van Bommel was substituted in the 71st minute and later diagnosed with a right knee injury.
